Getting Started

To start, click this link to go to the Registration page: https://portal.builterra.com/Account/Register

Click on the "Register with Builterra" button to create a username and password just for Builterra, or click on the "Register with Microsoft Account" to set-up Microsoft Single-sign-on (SSO) with Builterra.

Note: Some account administrators require all users on the account to use Microsoft SSO to sign-in. If you know you should use Microsoft to sign-in, click on the "Register with Microsoft Account" button. If you unsure if you should use Register with Builterra or a Microsoft Account, we suggest talking to your Builterra account administrator(s).

User Registration

Every user in the Builterra portal has a unique username and password. The username is based on the e-mail address of the registered user. Any e-mail notification will then be sent to this address.

Microsoft Builterra Registration

To register to Builterra with your Microsoft Account, click on the "Register with Microsoft Account" button.

After clicking on the "Register with Microsoft Account" follow the steps to sign into your Microsoft account.

Microsoft Single-sign-on

Registering with Microsoft has the advantage of using the Microsoft Single-sign-on (SSO) feature. However, any user can connect their account to Microsoft for Microsoft SSO.

To learn how to connect your existing User Profile to your Microsoft account, watch this video:

User Profile Setup

The User Profile allows you to personalize your information for others to see and access as part of a Paid Account. The Profile page includes your name, contact information, language preferences, and the option to add your signature. The other tabs also include data entry fields for short a Biography, Keywords, Education and Experience information.

After creating an account, this page can be accessed by selecting the 'Profile' on the menu.

Adding a Signature and Stamp

You may add a signature and stamp to be used when reviewing and approving inspections. To add a signature or a stamp, use their respective 'add' buttons and add a photo of your signature or stamp. Once a signature has been assigned, it will be added to inspections that the user marks as reviewed. Additionally, a stamp will be added to inspections that a supervisor has checked.

Note: If you see "View" and "Delete" then you already added a signature to your profile. Otherwize you will only see a "BROWSE" button instead.

Settings

The settings tab helps tailor the user's experience. Here you can set particular preferences to change how a specific user uses the platform.

  • Theme (v2 Pages Only) – This feature allows users to change the appearance of the portals on the Builterra platform.
  • Default Edit Style – sets the default tender edit style to the user's preference.
  • Initial Tree View – will default all pages to the desired view format.
  • Mute Package Notifications – Turn off e-mail notifications when packages are ready to be downloaded.
  • Select Favorite Projects – Add projects shown at the top of the list in the mobile app, and appear on the "Favorites" tree-view format.
  • Home Screen Buttons - Choose the buttons that appear on your Welcome/Home screen on the Buitlerra web portal.
Note: Users can only select eight home screen buttons at a time. If you select less than eight home screen buttons, it will randomly pick other buttons not used until eight buttons are on the home screen.

Security

  • Manual password reset - User can manually reset their password on this page. We highly suggest manually resetting your password after logging into the Builterra Web Portal after a "Forgot your password" reset, as that password is a temporary password that expires after a short period.
  • 2FA status - Users are able to enable Two Factor Authentication on this page if they wish to utilize higher security requirements for their logins.
  • Connect Microsoft Account - Users can connect their Microsoft account to their Builterra login to utilize Microsoft Single-Sign-On for logging in with their Microsoft credentials instead of their Builterra Username and password.
  • API Access - Users can reveal their Client ID and Client Secret values with the 'CREATE ID AND SECRET' button.
  • Reset Permissions - This button resets your current permissions to get the most recent permissions available.
Note: This button is used for "Pro" accounts only, as "Pro" accounts use the new Roles and permissions system.
